Results-based Management is an important approach to ensure that Swedish development cooperation contributes to creating opportunities for people living in poverty and under oppression to improve their living conditions.
The course gives you an improved ability to apply Results-based Management in projects and programs in development cooperation, i.e., planning, implementation and reporting of results. A prerequisite for participation is to have a concrete project / program to work with during the course.
Purpose
The purpose of the course is to strengthen the capacity of development actors to plan, implement, monitor and follow up programs and projects focusing on results and effects, rather than activities.
Learning Objectives
After active participation at the course, the participant will be able to:
- explain the logic of theory of change and its underlying assumptions;
- sketch theories of change, stakeholder analyses and risk analyses based on own examples;
- improve the plan for monitoring of own case/example, taking into consideration qualitative as well as quantitative aspects; and
- apply Results-Based Management in a given context and select relevant tools and methods.
Target group
Program / project managers within Swedish government authorities, civil society organizations, universities and the private sector involved in Swedish development cooperation or Swedish humanitarian assistance. Participants applying in a group of 2-3 people from the same organisation will be prioritised. This in order to create as good conditions as possible for organisational learning.

Location
Digital in Zoom. All participants must have access to their own personal computer, webcam, speakers (built-in or external/headset), microphone (built-in or external/headset) and a strong internet connection.
